After spending the past twenty-some years as a painter, working in various mediums including coloured pencil and egg tempera, I have found, through a creative journey,... the wonderful art of dollmaking. In making dolls, I not only get to paint,... but sculpt, AND work with the antique and vintage fabrics that I love. Since the dolls began not just as a form of artistc expression, but as decorative accessories for my own home, each one is created as if I were making it for myself.
I hope you enjoy viewing my dolls as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
My Dolls are not created as children's toys, but as decorative art.
“We say that a girl with her doll anticipates the mother. It is more true, perhaps, that most mothers are still but children with playthings.” Francis Herbert Bradley
To Amy
This blog is dedicated to my daughter, Amy. When she read it for the first time, she said that that reading my words calmed her...hah! I laughed. I couldn't imagine anyone saying that to me, least of all someone in my family! Sometime, I will have to tell you all about how we met... Love you, Sweetie
